My Journey

 

The inspiration for Le Ekhaya stems from my own experiences. As a woman with a larger bottom and an arched back, I often found clothing that fits well to be a rarity. This led me to rely on separates and alterations to create outfits that complimented my shape. The struggle of never finding the perfect fit ignited my passion to create a brand that truly understands and embraces diverse body types.

Born and raised in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, and having made my way to the UK at the age of 21, I carry the essence of both worlds. My Ndebele culture profoundly influences me. With over 40 years of sewing experience, I have woven together my love for fabric and storytelling to shape this brand. I am a curious soul who revels in the arts and theatre, blending romantic elements with creativity.

A Vision for Community

 

Le Ekhaya is more than just a fashion house; it’s a community for conscious creators. I aim to empower women not only through clothing but also by providing the tools necessary to start their own brands. As we grow together, I envision a space where every voice is heard, where we can celebrate our unique expressions and identities.

 

In building Le Ekhaya, I will host only limited pop-ups a year, alongside our ready-to-wear collection, available online with exclusive drops. My hope is that these initiatives provide a platform for you to feel seen, celebrated, and empowered.
